Online dating can suck much of the time. This story at Loveawake.com is one of many of my experiences over the years. I got so frustrated sometimes with the people I was meeting. So many were liars..whether they lied about age, income, height, marital status… I wondered where it would end. I decided to see if I increased my chances in getting younger, more attractive men if I made myself a few years younger.

But at one point, even I gave in to the lying. That's right, I lied. I posted the same photos, but I fudged my age. You know what? I DID get my share of younger, more attractive guys…at least on paper. Turns out they were lying, too. Anyway, if we're going to move forward in the dating game, we all need to play it straight for a change. No need to lie about height, age or income. You are who you are, and sooner or later your dates will find out.

Do you want to immediately be written off because of a lie? I wanted to attract an honest, good, down-to-earth guy, but I made things harder on myself and made that task impossible. This might be clear to most of you, but for those who keep encountering dishonesty, remember to keep your own honesty in check when it comes to dating. If we keep deceiving ourselves as well as others, no wonder there are so many disappointing dates.
